New ideas for the Spring hope to see you at the following:

*The Yard:

join the face book page here https://www.facebook.com/groups/366989846656813/

WHAT: This will be a monthly share of stories, recipes and dishes. It will be held outside; it’s called The Yard for a reason! You will share food, stories, recipes on line and make contacts and friends. Generally it will be on the 1st of every month and will be themed.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING: some kind of empty dish (to fill with food), some kind of drinking item for yourself, some kind eating appliance like fork/spoon etc and the DISH of the month. Make enough to share with about 6 people (although we expect a lot of people so come hungry!) and remember that we can’t reheat or cook it on site. And bring your lovely self!

WHERE: mostly outside but there is a small inside space in case it rains…however, wrap up and bring what you might need for the weather! This event is what WE make it. This is not an event where you are the guest -this is about community and ownership.

COST: Reluctant to charge I have to ask for a nominal fee towards the rent of the space – so donations (of £1 and upwards) are welcome and anything left over will go into the pot for a big Xmas Yard bash!

LOCATION: Kew Avenue Halls is a 7 minute walk from Kew Gardens Station. Both Silverlink and Tube (District Line) map and such here. http://www.avenuehalls.com/about-us

APRIL 1st 7.30pm

Theme: Your Mother’s Signature Dish

You make the above dish and share the recipe online at the address you’ll get on the night. You will also get to meet other people and talk about your mother and her cooking (even if it was terrible) –plus whatever else you want to talk about obviously. When you think about your mother’s cooking…what dish do you identify with her? Come and share it with us. Let’s meet your mother through her food via you! You will meet lots of foodie strangers and get to eat all kinds of things which may not form a coherent meal when assembled together.

MAY 1st 7.30pm

Theme: Food & Dance

Disco, tango, salsa? Maypole? A dish which you associate with dancing of dance (you may be asked to throw some shapes and bust a move or two to accompany your dish. I am told the local Latin Band will be rehearsing on this night…so we’re in good company.
