Currently I’m a part-time senior lecturer at Nottingham Trent University where my work is generally divided into two categories; lecturing and research. I continue to learn lots from my students (BA and MA varieties) about how to ‘get my swag on’ and other such essentials of modern living. In return, I teach them about branding and marketing, consumer behaviour and how to think and communicate ideas and concepts.

My personal research is in the arena of food/beauty/smell from both a cultural, historical and societal perspective. When I am able, I give academic papers at symposiums and conferences (some of which are published in journals retrospectively).

I also offer a variety of public lectures ranging from ’specific food and it’s history’ to ‘trends for the year ahead’ to ‘smell and behaviour’. These talks or curated symposia do have academic underpinning but are aimed at everyman and people from the creative industries, advertising and media.
